All the images for EJIW (East Jordan Iron Works) were illustrated by me. It was much cheaper to have me draw them than hire a photographer, forklift operator, and then a commercial artist to airbrush (nowadays – photoshop) the photos to correct for imperfections. I was able to draw about 1 – 2 of these per hour. But this was done back it the day when computers didn’t have as much processing power, So I would have them render while I left for the day and the computer worked all night to finish those renderings. This way they all looked very consistent and made for a very nice catalog. I’ve drawn hundreds of these manhole covers in addition to the ones in booklet shown above and below.

This is the inside of the above catalog.

This is the logo that I did for my previous company. It was called Village Press, but changed its name with the new owner, to VP Demand Creation Services. Below is the original logo that I did around 2008. Below the brochure, the bottom of the page shows how I’ve included the “VP” for sections of the company. (Sustainability, Marketing, Sales, Art Department, Prepress, etc.)

The Detroit Medical News Logo was designed by me and this cover was created from three different images. This publication won awards and several for design each year that I was in charge of designing it. Enjoyed designing this publication greatly.

Sometimes it’s very simple illustrations that are needed.
